Woman caught her boyfriend texting other woman

Men are from Mars, women are from Venus has always been an annoying and reductive catchphrase, but when it comes to the way we view porn, studies suggest that men and women may in fact be quite different!

A study compiled by the Institute for Family Studies (sexy!) measured how watching porn changed for men and women depending on their level of commitment in a relationship! It appears that men for instance stay about the same whether they’re dating seriously or casually, with only 25% saying that they don’t watch porn. Compared to that 57% of women dating casually and 60% of women dating seriously claim to not watch porn!

Another significant difference in porn watching came in the form of whether people watched it in company or alone. Men were overwhelmingly more likely to watch porn ‘always alone’ than women, who tended to watch it with a partner. 45% of casually dating men said they watched it alone compared to 13% of casually dating women! In fact, women were three to four times more likely to report porn watching as a ‘couple-based activity.’

Another rather hilarious statistic showed that men tend to overestimate how much porn their girlfriends watch.

Another random fact that emerged in a separate study is that women tend to watch porn on mobile more than men, leaving researchers scratching their heads wondering if this is because they do it on the go?

Regardless, what the studies prove is what perhaps we knew already. That whilst we live in a varied and wonderful world alas some things just always seem to fall along some stereotypical gender lines! Like men watch more porn regardless of relationship status. Whaddayaknow!
