couple having sex

It looks like men are failing to make women come through vaginal intercourse and it’s not good news. To make matters worse, it looks like almost all men always achieve orgasm during sex (95%)!

But that’s ok! Apparently there is a scientifically backed solution to the problem!

A recent report from the Archives of Sexual Behaviour has shown that only 34% of women are reporting having orgasms during male-female sexual intercourse, whilst 86% of gay women report achieving orgasm during sex. Men, pull up your socks!

The study however, which surveyed and interviewed 53,000 people in the US, concldued that there was a recurring series of the actions that happened and could be associated with an increased rate of orgasm among women. And they called it The Golden Trio:

  • Deep kissing
  • Manual genital stimulation
  • Oral sex

The study reads: “Women were more likely to orgasm if their last sexual encounter included deep kissing, manual genital stimulation, and/or oral sex in addition to vaginal intercourse. We consider sociocultural and evolutionary explanations for these orgasm gaps.”

So whilst no one is saying to give up on vaginal intercourse, it does seem to hint that whilst it is pleasurable (and the man certainly will achieve orgasm from it) for women to actually achieve climax may involve one or all of the above.

This isn’t the first study to suggest women are less likely to come from vaginal stimulation. In fact a study published in 2016 OMGYES, a brilliant website dedicated to better sex for women, found that a staggering 67% said that they achieved orgasm through clitoral stimulation.

So men, if you pride yourself on being somewhat gifted in the sack pay attention and start practicing your Golden Trio.
