The trailer for Jordan Peele’s much-hyped remake of The Twilight Zone is finally here and it does not disappoint.
One of the stalwarts in the horror genre, The Twilight Zone has gone through many reiterations, having first aired on TV in the 50s, then in 1995, and again in 2002.

But after the amazing success that Peele had with Get Out (which went on to win an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay) this particular remake is expected to be the most true to the original series as well as go deep into the genre tropes that The Twilight Zone was famed for.
The trailer showcases its all-star cast with Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley), John Cho (Harold & Kumar), Tracy Morgan (30 Rock), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) among others.
In a statement at the time when the series reboot was announced, Peele said: “I’m honoured to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of The Twilight Zone.”
“And I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences,” he went on. “[Series creator] Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours.”
Peele’s Oscar winning last year was the first time an African American had won in the Best Screenplay category. It will be interesting to see how he brings current societal issues to bear in this reboot.
It airs April 1st on CBS.
