You’d imagine that there are more important things that go into determining who you’re attracted to, but the fact of the matter is that we are all still subject to certain smells and certain sounds that trigger that first initial attraction, shallow as it might be!
The influence for instance that say the pheromones released by someone’s body has in determining whether we’re a match, is very well documented. Not only that, but some smells will appeal to more women, as in certain odours seem to attract more potential partners!
And now, as it happens, accents are also huge factors in determining who you’re attracted to! Researchers at One Poll carried out a survey to determine what were deemed to be the sexiest and most attractive accents!
After having polled 5,000 people One Poll managed to eliminate New Zealand and South Africa (the top two last year) as the top contenders and confirmed that Ireland was the winner closely followed by Italian and (wait for it) Scottish!
One of the reasons why the Irish accent is deemed to have gotten so much more popular is due to it becoming more popularised by big stars such as Peaky Blinder’s Cillian Murphy and actress Saoirse Ronan. The English accent didn’t do too badly and it came in at a mere 6!
But it’s ok, if your accent is deemed to not be that sexy or even not on the list you can almost definitely make up for it (one can but hope!)
